Birds for Rain
the sky was a light gray today. it was almost white. it's been raining since the wee hours of the morning. it was not raining heavily, but the velocity of the raindrops were admirable, and it's been raining for hours. standing with a blue umbrella in the rain, i saw mists were gathering around some lush trees. it was a cold, cold morning. my shoes were absolutely wet and my socks soaked up all the moisture. so basically my feet were wet too and felt frozen. :) we had to go to the fields and i had a chance to walk around on the green grass in the rain for some time. i have always liked walking or playing around in the rain with no raincoat or umbrella, because i like the feeling of the little arrows landing on me, feeling the caresses of the cold sensation. but a few years ago i couldn't do these things anymore, for my immune system suddenly became sensitive and now i'll probably get a fever or flu or a cold if any raindrop fell on me. but either way, it was seldom for me to be able to be in the fields in a rainy day like this, so i took the advantage to take my time and enjoy the rain, maybe forget for a while, under the protective cover of my umbrella, of course.
my hometown is not really a metropolis, but these kinds of weather makes me love living here. it's suppose to be hot and moist all year round, but it is not really so, or maybe it is. it's beautiful weather in spring, a little rain and a little sun, then it's hot when it's summer. about march-june, during the transition to summer, there are storms in the seas and fishermen couldn't go out and fish are little. autumn comes when you can see the trees start to turn yellow, orange and red, and brown, before they fall and cover the ground. then it rains a lot and it's cold. when so-called winter comes, it pretty much rains a lot too. or the sun doesn't show itself so much. and it's cold. but of course, living in the coast makes the weather seem pretty unpredictable. at least, i learnt from my grandmother that when the birds chirp aloud and make noises like they are warning or calling, it means that the rain clouds are coming, and so far, the birds are never wrong.
