Road Accidents

This morning, we went travelling down the road to take a visit to my dentist so that the kind man can fix my braces.

It was a bright morning. My parents and I were listening to some good music when something horrible happened.

It seems that a road accident had occurred. The land cruiser was fine without a scratch, but the other car was in a total wreck. The front part of the car was all smashed. I saw people gathering around the scene to help the people involved in the accident. I saw two kids were laid down on the ground; a girl and a boy. I assumed they were siblings. The father was stuck at the front and was unconscious. There was little blood, so I hope that that's a good sign. We did not stop to help because a lot of people were there already. They already did the necessary steps to do when there is an accident.

I was really affected by the sight. I almost cried. Then I recalled a road accident that I witnessed when I was around 8-12 years old. A big lorry had run over a man. By the time we arrived, the victim was sprawled in a pool of blood, right in the middle of the road. I remember that his body was twisted and completely drenched in blood, and his eyes were bloodshot with no pupils. His mouth was open wide, as if he was screaming. It really was a gruesome sight. But I also remember that I wasn't really affected by it. My mother was concerned about me, but I felt really surprised if not a little bit excited to witness such a thing...Well I don't know how to say it. I didn't feel like crying as I did this morning. And there was much less blood.

Perhaps my heart have grown soft and weary, eh?

I hope they're all alive. Please be extra careful when you are driving. You might not be the one who's hurt, but you might hurt somebody else. You might even take lives. So drive cautiously even if you are an experienced driver.
