Lucid Dreaming
Hello. I checked Saya In Underworld today and read the post about lucid dreaming.
It really enlightened me about the fact that I often encounter lucid dreams. I don't remember the contents of most my dreams, but I remember about them being so real. And I've always had false awakening. Sometimes, it even caused me to be angry at some point. Like, "What!? Another dream!?" I've had this experience countless times, ever since I was little.
I read this link right here and though people think lucid dreaming and the effects from it are false, I personally believe that there are some relevancies and connection to the effects of lucid dreaming. This is because I have experienced some of them myself. People think that the effects of lucid dreams are caused by the fact that the dreamer has mental disorders or certain illnesses. I don't think I have this problem, of course. ^_^ That's why I believe in lucid dreaming at some extent.
I never actually realized that I have been experiencing lucid dreams even though I know what lucid dreams are. It's after I read more about it that I've truly realized it. Things like your dreams changing at the event that things don't go as planned, false awakenings... I've had a dream where I was living a whole day, I woke up and got ready for school. I was wearing my uniform and got to school. I talked and played with my friends and I walked back home from school. What happened after that I don't remember, but I woke up to the realization that the whole day was a lie. I was even looking forward to come back home because school was exhausting. But I woke up and I felt really annoyed because I had to start the day all over again.
I think I have written about this one dream of mine before. I was still in primary school and I had a nightmare. Now, I believe it was a lucid dream. In the dream, a blonde boy was running away from something, I think it was bad people. He got over a wire fence. Somehow, I don't remember how, he got spilled with acid, or maybe after he landed on the ground, he dropped some barrels with acid and it spilled all over him. He started to be in convulsions and laid on the ground. I remember that the skin and meat on his face was falling to pieces from his bones. I could see the red bones. And I thought, "Why?" and started crying in the dream. I woke up in real life and continued to cry from there. I remember it seemed so real. Or maybe it's just me having a regular nightmare.
Misplaced things also bother me. After reading more about lucid dreams. I think I have trouble differentiating the real life memories with lucid dream memories. Things like, I put an object here in a lucid dream, and in real life, I can't find it there. But I am absolutely convinced that I put it there, because in my memory, I did place it there. Something like that can have some association with lucid dreaming, right? Then again, I could just have misplaced the darn thing.
I've also experienced occasions where I woke up from a dream feeling absolutely exhausted. Strong emotions during dreaming can also be connected to lucid dreaming. I have to say, I've had these elements in my dreams hundreds of times. I've even had dreams where I could smell scents perfectly. It seemed so real. I even had thoughts like "This must be real.." while in a dream.
What about continuous dreams? I am sure I've had dreams that seem so real and they continue. Sometimes by the following nights, or by days. Sometimes weeks.
Anyhow, I am not here to convince people about lucid dreaming. I am positive I've had lucid dreams more than non-lucid ones, because I remember that everything in the dreams were so vivid and so real. I've experienced false awakening countless times, and acknowledged my dream within a dream in my dream. You get it, right? Many times.... I don't think this has anything to do with any illness or mental disorders, because I am healthy and fine. I don't have insomnia or any sleep disorders. I've no statistics or data to show you proof to lucid dreaming, but I'm sure a lot of other people go through the same thing I do.
If you believe in it or not, that's your choice. It could be lucid dreaming or it could be caused by some mental illness and disorders. Who knows.
