the Drummer is the backbone of a band.

I have listened to a lot of bands. I am particularly attracted to bands that have their own original sound. Like, I've never heard another band make songs like they do - that kind of thought.

I have listened and listened, and I developed an opinion that most drummers have regular skills. It's like they are good enough to be a drummer, and so they are. I feel like the songs are good because of the melody, the guitar riffs, the vocals from the vocalist. And the drummer is there just to add the beats to the song. He contributes, but it feels like he is nothing special. I know it is not true for most people, but sometimes, I feel this way.

However, when it comes to Shinya, I feel like I have never heard a more talented drummer than him. He is not a drummer simply because he is good enough. He is a drummer because he was destined to be one. Whoever convinced him to take the path of being a drummer must be a saint. Shinya's drumming skills are superb. The sounds he makes are powerful, complicated, deep, brilliant, and genius.

Sure, drums don't need to be complicated to make the song great, as long as it fits with the entire song, right? I agree with this really. But I cannot shake the thought that Shinya's drumming skills make songs better than ever. Besides, Dir en Grey's songs cannot be simply completed with simple drumming, no - it only takes dear Shinya to make the song a Dir en Grey song. Honestly, nobody can replace Shinya. Nobody can replace members of Dir en Grey.

Being a gentle person by nature, you would not have guessed that Shinya would have amazing abilities with drums, in a metal band. And the way he hits the drums, I've also never seen someone play the drums so beautifully as he does. It's as if he feels it, you know? It is this kind of person that can make me admire a band so much. When I find something truly special and original about a band, then I have real respect for them. I really adore Shinya. I have yet to see a person who is as perfect as Shinya when it comes to drumming.

I heard a radio host say this before, "Just leave it to the Japanese, it's like their drummers have eight hands".
And I cannot agree more. It really does sound like they have eight hands, judging from the tremendous sounds they are making with the drums.
