Music: Book Of Friends
Alright. So Natsume Yuujinchou is a pretty famous anime, right? I've watched it before, but this is the first time I've listened to the original soundtracks. I have to say, I'm very impressed even though it is unlike Mushishi's ost which I love and adore very much, it has the same potential and has similar feelings, although only in some of the songs, for example 'Kusa Odoru Kaze no Hibiki' and 'Honoka no Kioku'. It is an anime after all. Mushishi is a really beautiful anime, while I feel Natsume Yuujinchou is rather like the conventional anime, but shows similar uniqueness and beauty as well. It has sad times and heart-felt times like that in Mushishi. But the thing is, Mushishi doesn't really make an effort, or make it seem that way. It shows things simply as it is and I cry because it's just so sad. I think this separates Mushishi from other animes as well. The soundtrack composed by Yoshimori Makoto is exceptional. I fell in love instantly when I heard 'Honoka no Kioku'. Again, I feel like I want to live in their world. The world of Natsume Yuujinchou. I want to go there and live happily ever after. There's been unexpected stuff happening to me, and now I feel like there is nothing more important in this world than enjoying life. You shouldn't regret the choices you've made. There is only moving forward and living how you want to. Enjoy life as it is. Music has really made me feel this way. Even though people tried to console me, it is only through music that I was able to understand all this.
Anyway, I love Natsume Yuujinchou and the ost. It is really a unique anime that cannot be passed off. One must watch it if they are fans of the supernatural and yokai. It can be slow-paced at times, but it is a rather laid-back anime. I have to say that I've jumped and screamed and had shivers while watching the episodes, so I am not sure if one can say it is a laid-back anime, but it's nothing too bloody or violent. The action's pretty good and exciting. I like them very much. Fell in love with Natsume Takashi's gentleness. During the anime, I noticed I keep saying things like, "Ah, yasashii nee~" towards Natsume. Haha. He's my type.
Enough nonsense now, this post was about music. The ost is really good. I still think Mushishi's ost is number one, but some songs in Natsume Yuujinchou's ost are beautiful as well. Again, I feel like going into their world. It just seems so peaceful, with the forests and mountains and tall trees. Ah, definitely. I'm going to find some place like this and live there until I die.
